Meet your Host

Des Clarke is one of the UK’s most exciting performers and widely regarded as the trusted voice of radio comedy and satire in Scotland. His career launched when he won a nationwide search to host SM:TV Live, leading to an impressive TV portfolio including his own BBC Scotland shows Breaking The News and Des Doesn’t Do, regular appearances on BBC One’s The One Show and Morning Live, and voicing Jeopardy on ITV alongside Stephen Fry.
On radio, Des presents the Heart Scotland Breakfast Show and hosts BBC Radio Scotland’s Breaking the News. His work has earned him a British Radio Award and multiple Scottish Comedy Awards. His undoubted career high was hosting the Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony to a global TV audience of 1 billion viewers.
